We are from Dakshina Kannada, simple living people. Parents managers in Public Sector Bank and younger brother eng. in Mumbai.
Our daughter is M.A. in Linguistics and PGD in Journalism, currently working in Pune.
We are unorthodox, but respect others' views on life & religion.
Our daughter is an intelligent, frank,independent thinking girl, is well read esp. in Indian History, mythology. Language is her passion.
Her principle in life is honesty, freedom of thought,expression,intellectual pursuit, to all. She would say that man and woman should be complementary and need not necessarily be of same occupation etc.
Her expectations of a boy - Well read, interested in happenings around the world, a person with social concern and responsibilities. Person who respects the intellectual freedom of a woman.
In short, give each other space.
It is fine to say these things but, ultimately, only frank discussion can lead to better mutual understanding.
