27 years well-lived, I describe myself thus - An aspiring author, a budding poet, a serious joker, a funny friend, a loyal confidante, a wise woman, an evolving soul. I believe in God, but not in religion, I believe in prayer, but not in rituals, I believe in mentors, but not fanaticism. I am extremely naughty, yet simple. I was born to be in theatre, but chose to be a social worker, therefore I am a closet entertainer :) I love to spend time with my friends, just chilling, chatting. An avid reader, I devour several books a year, and still crave for more. A chocoholic, a loud and infectious laugh, Marriage for me is like living in with your closest friend.

My Job: I pursued my Masters in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work from the best college in India, in Mumbai. I work as an educational specialist with an educational research firm since the last two years. In my spare time, I volunteer with an NGO which works with underprivileged children. I believe in working towards a more egalitarian society. I see myself being a successful full-time writer, 5 years from now.

Looking for: I am looking for someone who believes in gender equality. Someone who is broadminded and doesn't expect me to change my religion or lifestyle to suit his. I would prefer to live independently (without in-laws, but negotiable).

About Career: Plan to work after marriage.

My Family:
I come from an extremely liberal family. My mother was a Gujarati Jain and she married my dad, a Saraswat Brahmin. They brought us up to be thinking independent women. My mom died in 2001 and my dad's remarried a few years ago. My sister and I have made all our choices independently and with the consent of our parents. My sister is married and lives in Ahmedabad, she's a singer :) I live in Bangalore, with room mates, and enjoy it tremendously.
