As the editor of one of India's oldest IT publications, I get to interact with the best and brightest in the IT industry. I love my job and I am very, very good at it. My employers seem to agree, they promoted me thrice during the past five years. :)
Unlike newspaper journalists, I work in what's known as the Trade and hence enjoy a five day week and since I'm the senior most journalist in my division I get to telecommute quite a bit.
In my free time, my interests are diverse. I like reading, mostly fiction. Within fiction, I like pretty much anything as long as it's well written. Recent books I have read have included thrillers, mysteries, fantasy, SF...
I love movies and make it a point to watch every halfway decent comedy, action/adventure, SF/fantasy, rom-com that Hollywood trots out. When it comes to Bollywood I usually stick to a handful of blockbusters--I like slickly produced films, which is why I watch stuff like Dhoom and its sequels or the Hrithik-Rakesh Roshan team-ups...
I grew up in Delhi and Trivandrum, did my college and worked for eight years in Bangalore, moved to Mumbai and worked for four years there and returned to Bangalore in Feb this year. I took a transfer back as my Dad wasn't keeping well. Having returned, I find that I like it here and intend to stay put in Bangalore for the rest of my life. Right now, I am staying with my folks but I'm quite willing to set up on my own after marriage.
I am looking for a woman who, like me, believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. To me that means working hard but knowing when to stop and smell the roses (or spend time with your family to be more prosaic)... It would be nice if we shared some interests but more than anything else, our value systems have to match. I am not overtly materialistic. I like gadgets and I buy books, CDs, and clothes quite freely but I am not the kind of person who believes in flaunting my money by splashing out on a big car. I would rather invest in a flat or as I am doing right now in equity, (my portfolio of blue chips is doing very nicely indeed).
Thank you for your patience in reading this far. If you think, you fit the bill and that I might be Mr. Right, please contact me and I will be in touch soon.
Looking for: She should be based in Bangalore.
My Family: My father retired from the IAS in 1991. Mom's been a homemaker all along.
