Harsh - as I like to call him - messaged me through the app. It had been a while since I had checked my messages on Jeevansathi. Not because I didn't want to find someone, but because I didn't particularly need to find him 'soon' or whith any time boundations. For me, this app was not a desperate attempt at finding a groom, as many tend to imagine. I decided my own intention of using the app - breaking the cliche stereotype. For me, jeevansathi was a way to meet someone who, like me, saw it as an opportunity and not a need. Someone who wouldn't mind giving time to getting to know each other. The primary difference between this app and a dating app was that we both knew from the start that if we worked out, neither would mind tying the knot. So, Harsh's second message caught my attention eventually and unfortunately it was a kind goodbye! How could I let that happen?! He is my soulmate! Hahaha, no I'm just kidding. Of course I didn't know that at the time. I saw his profile, read every single word, as he had through my profile. The fact that he had invested time and thought in his bio and other details was my first attraction point. Followed by his love for and experience in travelling, quircky hobbies like star gazing and trekking. Our conversations were endless after that. From texts, to calls, to video dates (we were in different t countries at the time). A few months later, he flew down to meet me. We took that time to confirm all of our attractions and imaginations that had developed over digital mediums. Rest was as any traditional marriages go. We finally involved our families and got married 8 months later. Now married for another 8 months and living together in the US. I'd like to thank jeevansathi for giving us a platform to connect and write our own stories. Giving us a chance at best of both world - love / arranged marriage.
