Kshatriya, one of the four varnas in Hinduism, traditionally constituted the military and ruling elite of the Vedic-Hindu social system. Their main branches include Suryavanshi (descent from Surya), Chandravanshi (descent from Chandra), Agnivanshi (descent from Agni) and Nagavanshi (descent from the Naga).
Intermarriage has been unthinkable for Kshatriya Mumbai community as they place huge emphasis on following traditions. The folklores of heroes are sung during marriages and other ceremonies.
