Oriya Muslims are an Islamic community in the state of Orissa making for more than 2% of the state's total population. Bhadrak has maximum number of Muslims followed by the towns of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Kendrapara. The vast majority of Oriya Sunni Muslims belongs to the Hanafi School and is divided between the Deobandi and Barelvi sub-sects. Their prominent families are Muftis, Qazis, Sayyids and Mullahs. Their marriages are solemnized by observing various traditional rituals and customs.
