Vokkaliga matrimony is the process of tying the wedding knot between bride and groom of Vokkaliga community. The people of this group have their habitat majorly in the areas of Old Mysore in Southern part of Karnataka. They are known as Okkaligar in Tamil Nadu, where they use Gowda as their title. Vokkaliga belong to the Vaisya varna of Hindus, which are also called as the Satvics. The Vokkaliga matrimony is basically carried out according to the religious beliefs of the Hindus of that region.
