Biharis originate from various areas in the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and UP. Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi and other local dialects of Bihari language are commonly spoken by this ethnic group. Bihari New Delhi therefore consists of people who belong to Bihar, speak Bihari and its various dialects and are currently situated in New Delhi. Large numbers of Biharis have migrated to New Delhi either in search of work or to pursue higher studies making Bihari New Delhi a significant group.
