Kurmi is the name of one of the Vedik Kshatriya castes of the Hindus in India. Bihari Hindu Kurmis speak their native & regional languages like Magahi and Angika. They are very proud of the rural touch of their roots and that shows in their wedding celebrations.
Typically, ceremonies in Bihari Hindu weddings are month long but with changing trends and shortage of time, it is limited to just five days like other Indian marriages. Amidst various rituals and customs, only vegetarian food is served.
