Bihari Sunni Muslims are an ethnic group from Bihar that follows Islam and speaks Bihari languages amongst other local dialects as well as Hindi and Urdu. Muslims usually prefer marriage or 'nikah' within their community.
Bihari Muslim men wear a 'Khan suit' or 'Pathan suit' on Fridays and religious days and the majority of Muslim women wear the Burqa. Bihari Muslims are found chiefly in the Kishanganj, Sivan, Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Champaran districts of the state.
