Gujarati people or Gujaratis are an Indo-Aryan Gujarati-speaking ethnic group. Most of the Gujaratis are Hindus (81%) and others in minority are Muslims (9%), Sikhs, Christians and Jains. Kutchi people speak Kutch, Gujarati, Sindhi and Memoni. The majority of Gujarati Hindus is vegetarian and avoids using garlic in their cooking.
Gujarati brides wear a lot of jewelry in their marriages. During a traditional Kutchi Hindu matrimony, the groom applies 'sindoor' on the bride for the very first time.
