Delhi, the capital of the country has been home for Jains from ages and like all other Janis follows the path of non- violence. Delhi Jains are spread across the city, due to which it is also called a major Jain centre. Delhi, at present has 148 Digambra Jain temples, 61 sthanakvasi upashrayas and 16 temples of Svetambara Murtipujak, which allows them to worship their gods. Most of the Delhi Jains residing in the area of Rupnagar, are the Punjab refugees, who reached India, after partition.
