The subsects of Kannada Hindu Brahmin Smartha are Havyaka, Babboor Kamme, Kota Brahmin, Sankethi, Hoysala Karnataka, Sama Vedi, Shukla Yajurvedi, Halenadu Karnataka and Badaganadu among others. Marriages in Kannada Hindus are a very simple but ritualistic affair celebrated with friends and relatives.
