Kannada Hindu Gowdas are the Hindus living in the Karnataka and the Andhra Pradesh regions of India and use title Gowda as their surnames. Kannada Hindu Gowdas does not refer to a particular caste, but Gowda is a title used by the head of the family or a family group and even people of different castes and communities also use it as a surname. Gowda is generally used as a surname by the Hindu people belonging to Golla, Lingayat, Kuruba, Idiga, Tigala and other communities living in Karnataka.
