Kannad is a major South Indian language spoken in the state of Karnataka by all religions and ethnic groups. Muslim Sunni sect is settled in large numbers in Karnataka state and is characterized as orthodox Muslims that follow Sufism. They usually conform to Hanafi School of Islamic law and speak Urdu and Kannada both. They are mainly engaged in agriculture and fisheries sector. Id-al-Fitr and Id-al-Adha are their main festivals and on this day they wear new clothes and exchange gifts.
