| The Marwari community derives its name from the region of Mewar in Rajasthan. The community members are mostly in business and industrial activities. Wedding ceremonies is a rich and grand function for the Marwari community. Marwari Grooms usually dresses in traditional attire of sherwani. An interesting wedding ritual involving the Marwari Groom is the Granthi-Bandhan. In this ritual, the sister of the groom ties a cloth around his waistline, which is later tied to the bride's chunni. |
