Himachal Pradesh, a multi-religional, multi-cultural and multi-lingual state has remained largely untouched by external customs. Some of the most commonly spoken languages in HP include Hindi, Punjabi, Pahari, Dogri, Kangri, Gojri and Kinnauri.
The Hindu caste communities residing in Himachal are Brahmins, Rajputs, Gujjars, Gaddis, Grith (Choudhary), Kannets (Rajputs), Rathis and Kolis. There are also tribal population in the state mainly comprising Kinnars, Pangawals, Sulehria and Lahaulis.
