The Malayalees are a group of people or community that speaks Malayalam language originated from Kerala. Malyalam has originated from the words mala and alam that means land along side the mountain. A large number of Hindus and Christians are Malayalees. Malayalees are very educated and strictly follow their traditions
Though the majority of Malayalis belong to Kerala, significant populations also exist in other parts of India like Karnatake and Delhi, the Middle East, Europe and North America.
