Telugu is a Dravidian language with heavy Sanskrit influence and is the third most spoken in India. Telugus are mostly native to Andhra Pradesh with significant populations in states of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.
