U.P is India's benchmark of Hindi literature and has produced legendary writers and poets such as Premchand, Mahadevi Varma and Jaishankar Prasad. The state is located in northern part of India. It is a multi-ethnic state where 80% of population is Hindu and rest 20% includes Muslims, Atheists, Jains and Sikhs. Uttar Pradesh is often referred as the 'Hindi Heartland of India'.
Hindi dialects such as Awadhi, Bagheli, Bhojpuri, Bundeli, Kannauji, Braj Bhasha and Khariboli are widely spoken in U.P.
