Various structures and stupas have proved that Buddhism came to Telugu speaking Andhra Pradesh state in 2nd and 3rd century. Buddhism is a religion where people follow the teachings of Lord Gautam Buddha. There a are dozens of Buddhists sites that are visited by thousands of pilgrims every year. Some of the famous Buddhist pilgrim centers are Amravati, Nagarajunakonda to name a few. Buddhists in Andhra Pradesh are a very homogeneous group that has imbibed itself in Telugu language and culture.
