The capital of Assam is Dispur and it is known for traditional crafts. The Indo Aryans from Brahmaputra Valley who speak Assamese language can be termed as Assamese though the definition is much broader. Assamese Muslims are those people who live in the north eastern state of India, Assam and follow practices of Islam. This group uses Assamese as main language though some speak in Bodo, Nepali, Manipuri and Bengali as well. Eid is celebrated with great fervor in the state by Assamese Muslims.
