Marathi Christians or Marathi Christi is an ethno-religious community that resides in the state of Maharashtra. They are distinct from East Indian Christians who are predominately Roman Catholics as the majority of Marathi Christians are Protestants.
Marathi Christians use Marathi as their mother-tongue in social life but also speak English for communication. Marathi Christians are inhabitants of Western Maharashtra i.e. Ahmednagar, Solapur and Aurangabad. Their literacy rate is very high.
