About her Family

I hail from a nuclear family of four, modern in its outlook and traditional in its culture. My father is an ENT Surgeon and served with the State Government Medical Services. After official retirement, he maintained his vigour and is back to work in a private hospital. My mother is a wonderful homemaker and is proud of the family she has brought up. My only sibling, a younger brother is completing Dentistry this year. My extended family comprises of my grandma who is my role model. 

In a son-in-law, we are looking forward to admit another family member in our family as much as I would be in his.

Education

Frankly, I am a studious soul, almost a nerd at some level - one who can sportingly interrupt a conversation for grammar and spelling alerts. 

A career in Medicine was a natural choice since my father is a revered doctor and I absolutely idolize him. Thus, I completed my MBBS from Assam Medical College as a day scholar. To impact health on a broader level, I chose to pursue MBA in Health from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. It is here that along with management skills, I delved deeper into the social paradigm of health and illness. I aspire for further education as and when the right time and opportunity knocks.

Occupation

I am passionate to work for social upliftment. As a doctor, I have worked in both clinical and administrative roles. I discovered I am happier providing health solutions to the masses rather than a corporate hospital or clinic. Hence, I joined WHO after my MBA. As the District Head, I enjoy the power and position to effect a positive change in the field of child health services of my district.

I believe in work-life balance and am able to strike equally the quality of time spent at home and at office. I wish to continue working after marriage and am open to working abroad.
